1. Read and interpret machining blueprints
2. Set up and operate precision equipment needed to manufacture parts using work orders, travelers, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, or drawings
3. Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
4. Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushing, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices, tramming heads
5. Loads stock into position
6. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and same work pieces; use measuring devices like calipers to ensure specifications are met
7. Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
8. Maintain safe operations by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures
9. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
10. Use forklift as needed
11. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
12. All other duties assigned
