The Clerk for the Treasurer’s Office performs general administrative duties, interacts with, and assists citizens of the County and general public, and ensures that aspects of the Treasurer’s Office are running smoothly.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry, typing, filing, etc.
- Handle accurate and effective collection of money coming into the County.
- Prepare a variety of tax receipts in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner.
- Learn all clerical duties of the tax department, including answering inquiries in person and on the phone.
- Answer phone inquiries within scope of responsibility.
- Refer inquiries to proper resources as necessary.
- Collect and handle taxpayer inquiries related to real estate, personal, sales, and other taxes collected by the County Treasurer.
- Issue driver’s licenses, CDL’s, learner permits, ID cards, school permits, etc.
- Transfer titles, replacement titles, and registration renewals.
- Accurate, timely, and efficient posting and balancing of licenses, titles, and legal documents.
- Provide responsive, courteous, and efficient service to the County residents and the general public.
- Maintain daily receipts and reconcile cash.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) to three (3) years of prior related experience.
Physical Requirements
This position must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, operate a computer, office equipment, and may occasionally lift up to 20lbs.
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to indoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $17.00 per hour
