Description
Supports and coordinates activities related to the design, modification and operation of process equipment for a fleet of ethanol plants. Assists with the review of the process equipment/data and takes action to improve plant operations. Assists with projects from conception through completion including the development, design and execution of capital, expense and maintenance projects in a safe and efficient manner. Provides process support following execution.
- Supports the operation of the plant by reviewing, studying, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting the plant systems and equipment by recommending modifications or new equipment to improve operations.
- Analyzes and interprets data for opportunities to improve production, efficiencies, yields and operating costs. Generate reports summarizing findings.
- Improves the process by coordinating changes in operations, controls, equipment, procedures, parameters, operational theory and other related items.
- Prepares justification, cost estimates and other project documents as required for approval.
- Develops technical specifications to procure equipment and services.
- Provides assistance with installation, startup and performance testing of multiple projects concurrently.
- Performs design work and other assigned tasks to ensure they are completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
- Serves as a technical resource for fleet operations.
- Completes requirements for compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management Regulations including but not limited to the maintenance of documentations such as P&IDs, SOPs, operating limits and equipment specifications.
- Assists with fleet project through process design development and review.
- Provides support in Turnaround execution.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
- At least one year of process engineering experience preferred.
- Experience in ethanol production, chemical processing, food processing, oil refining, or power plant preferred.
- Experience with engineering programs (i.e. CAD, SAP, ASPEN) preferred.
- Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
