The IT Security Coordinator is responsible for the promotion of security awareness programs and auditing systems. This position also creates and implements security related solutions to enhance overall District security and IT systems. In addition, the IT Security Coordinator is an element in the District’s overall IT operations.
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in Information Technology/Computer related field
- Three years experience preferred in a professional IT environment
- Knowledge of network security devices and testing procedures
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license and company vehicle insurability
Responsibilities
- Maintain network security by monitoring all points of access and providing vulnerability assessments to management
- Review system logs to monitor and detect suspicious activity
- Support in assigning provisions for user security roles, platforms, databases, applications, servers and directories
- Plan, manage and successfully complete assigned IT projects
- Perform routine computer infrastructure testing and produce required reports
- Analyze existing structures to recommend improvements to streamline policies, security procedures and improve end-user experience
- Provide technical support, respond to request from users, analyze, and solve reported problems
- Maintain proper documentation of IT related equipment and procedures
- Aide in the planning of budget preparations for network and security related upgrades
- Support and assist use of District’s IT needs
