Kylie Hoatson honored with DAISY Award
For Immediate Release(COLUMBUS, Neb.) – Columbus Community Hospital is delighted to announce Kylie Hoatson, RN, BSN, of the emergency department, is the recipient of the DAISY Award for the third quarter of 2025. This prestigious award honors nurses who demonstrate extraordinary clinical skill, compassion and dedication to patients and their families.
On April 17, a patient arrived at the emergency department with post-operative complications. Hoatson immediately took charge, calmly gathering critical information and guiding the patient through the first steps of care. Collaborating closely with Dr. Robert Miller, she helped rapidly identify and rule out serious complications, ensuring the patient received timely and focused treatment.
Even at the conclusion of a demanding shift, Hoatson’s professionalism, empathy and attentiveness left a lasting impact. “Kylie made me feel like I was her top priority throughout my visit,” the patient shared. “Her confident, caring approach gave me reassurance and comfort during a stressful time. I will never forget the care she provided.”
Kylie was honored at a ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 18, where she received a DAISY Award certificate, a commemorative pin and a hand-carved stone sculpture titled “A Healer’s Touch.”
