Albion Country Club is seeking a Superintendent to join our team! The Superintendent is entrusted with the maintenance, operation, and management of a golf course. We are looking for a motivated and energetic individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of our facility and our grounds. You will be primarily responsible for overseeing the golf course and making sure it is in great playing shape during the golf season. In addition, you will be in charge of managing staff, managing equipment, and providing timely upkeep for the entirety of the grounds and buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, organizing, and direct maintenance of all areas within the scope and according to the technical specifications of the contract.
- Managing budgets and expenses.
- Partnering with the customer to understand or develop a long-term property improvement plan.
- Managing golf course employees including interview, hire, train, discipline, and separation.
- Supervising the operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment assigned to the course.
- Preparing and following an annual agronomic plan that operates within the technical specifications of the contract and the annual budget.
- Procuring and managing supplies and materials to support maintenance activities.
- Review all services provided to ensure that Albion Country Club standards are met (greens, grass, bunkers, landscaping, weed control, pond maintenance, outbuilding upkeep, clubhouse maintenance, etc.).
- Provide leadership to the maintenance staff and other department personnel by promoting other department personnel by promoting teamwork and cooperation.
- Compose yourself in a positive and professional manner including attitude, appearance, and speech.
- Meeting or exceeding external and internal customer expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture.
- A working knowledge of the construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
- Familiar with the characteristics and proper use of fertilizers and soil conditioners. Knowledge of irrigation including watering practices, irrigation systems, pumps, wells, and automatic controls and drainage.
- Able to prepare the course for play in accordance with the rules of golf.
- Able to evaluate the course from the player’s perspective.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
