2026 Nebraska Treasurer Update
Join the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce for a community update with Nebraska State Treasurer Joey Spellerberg at noon on Monday, July 27, at the Chamber office.
Treasurer Spellerberg will provide an overview of several initiatives and programs administered by his office, including:
- The First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account Act, which will provide Nebraskans with a tax-advantaged way to save for their first home;
- The expansion of Nebraska’s NEST 529 college savings plan to support skilled trades, credentialing programs, and other workforce training opportunities;
- The 10th anniversary of the Enable Savings Plan, which serves individuals with disabilities and their families;
- The Treasurer’s anti-fraud and treasury management efforts;
- Nebraska’s Unclaimed Property program, which returned $6.57 million during the first quarter of 2026; and
- StateSpending.Nebraska.gov, which allows Nebraskans to track state government spending and revenue.
Time will be available for questions and discussion. Chamber members, business professionals, and community leaders are encouraged to attend and learn more about the programs and resources available through the Nebraska State Treasurer’s Office.
